Los Angeles campus

Los Angeles is America’s second largest city. It offers SummerESL.com students an exciting and vibrant centre for a summer study holiday.

Combining guaranteed sunshine and world-famous visitor attractions, such as Disneyland and Hollywood, the city is an extremely popular destination for students from all over the world.

Loyola Marymount University (LMU) is the location of our Los Angeles campus. LMU is a co-educational private Roman Catholic university, which offers superb academic and recreational facilities.

Situated on a hilltop in a safe and quiet residential area of Los Angeles, the university overlooks Marina del Rey, and has a great view of the Los Angeles skyline.

As with most American universities, Loyola Maryland University has extremely high standards in sports facilities.

SummerESL.com students will enjoy being able to play tennis, basketball and soccer, as well as go swimming in the outdoor poor

The university is only 10 minutes from Los Angeles International.

All-in-all it offers the perfect location for exploring all parts of the Californian west coast.

San Diego campus

San Diego is a vibrant and safe city, situated only 2 hours from Los Angeles.

This exciting centre is based at the University of San Diego (USD), a lovely green campus overlooking San Diego, Tecolote Canyon, Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

USD has a 60 year history of providing excellent education in California. It is well facilitated in all way, including high standards of accommodation, sports facilities, and onsite attractions. Furthermore, USD is equipped with a new state-of-the-art dining facility.

SummerESL.com students staying at our San Diego campus will enjoy the remarkably low ratio of students to teachers, with only 8 students maximum per class. This makes this campus popular with dedicated English language students.

What is more, students staying at this campus will enjoy almost the same full-day excursions as the Los Angeles campus, including Disneyland California.

 

Please note: the actual centre your group will attend will depend on availability at each of these centres. We prioritise Los Angeles; however, if there is no availability, your group will stay at San Diego. There is no additional charge for staying at San Diego.

English Classes

• Students receive 30 hours of English classes per 2-week course.
• ESL teachers have been chosen for their qualification, commitment, attitude and communicative ability.
• Both of our West Coast centres have a Director of Studies (DoS) who manages the teachers and guarantees that the syllabus is maintained.
• All DoS’s are English language professionals, recruited for their higher qualifications, extensive experience and suitability to managing large vacation programmes
• Our West Coast centres have a syllabus and materials that ensure that students learn about topics that are interesting for them and relevant to their lives.
